Shopify SEO: collection architecture, technical structure and content

What makes the difference in search is not keyword density; it is deciding which page answers which question, and splitting product data into proper fields.

What does this service cover?

Most SEO work in ecommerce is not producing content but building structure: collection architecture, URL rules, which filters get indexed and which do not, and how product data is held.

When that structure is right, content work pays back quickly. When it is wrong, the content you produce mostly competes with your own pages.

Query-to-page mapping

The most common mistake we see is several pages competing for the same term. We start by separating them:

Category intent goes to the collection page; the user wants to choose, not to see a single product
Product intent (brand and model) goes to the product page
Informational intent goes to blog content, not squeezed into collection copy
Filter combinations people actually search for become their own collections; the rest are not indexed

Product data and content at scale

In a catalogue of thousands of products, "write them all by hand" is not realistic advice. We work in tiers:

The products that carry revenue and traffic are written by hand first
A template is set up for the rest; distinctiveness comes from structured data, not prose
Details such as dimensions, material and compatibility live in their own fields and work in three places at once: the page, the filters and the structured data
Questions people genuinely ask are brought onto the page; we do not invent Q&A blocks

How we work

01
Audit
Technical structure, indexing status, collection architecture and current rankings are established.
02
Mapping and priorities
The query-to-page mapping table is built and work is ordered by revenue impact.
03
Technical fixes
URL rules, redirects, structured data and indexing decisions are implemented.
04
Content work
Collection copy, product descriptions and guide content are produced in the planned order.
05
Measurement
Reporting is broken down by page type and non-brand queries, with before-and-after comparison.

Frequently asked

The effect of technical fixes can show within weeks; content and architecture work usually settles after three months. We are wary of approaches that promise results in the short term.
