iyzico Shopify integration

Card payments, instalment options and secure collection with iyzico.

What does this integration do?

The iyzico integration enables local card payments and instalment sales in your Shopify store. The instalment table, commission structure and refund flow are configured around your operation, and payment reconciliation can be connected to your accounting system.

The data it synchronises

Card payment flow
Instalment and term options
3D Secure verification
Refunds / partial refunds
Payment reconciliation
Accounting integration

How the data flows

01
The payment method is defined
iyzico is defined as a payment method in Shopify, and which card types and currencies are accepted is set.
02
Instalment and term options
The instalment table is shown according to the card's bank. How many instalments to offer, and the policy on instalment costs, are worked out against margin.
03
Verification and collection
The 3D Secure flow completes, payment is taken and the order is created in Shopify.
04
Refund flow
A refund issued from Shopify is passed to the provider to reach the card; the partial refund scenario is tested separately.
05
Reconciliation
Settlement reports are matched to order records; commission and any instalment costs are booked to accounting as an expense.

What we watch for in this integration

Because Shopify's third-party transaction fee applies on top of the provider commission, total cost is made up of two items
Partial refund support must be tested during setup; a gap discovered later is the single biggest source of customer service load
The breakdown of failure reasons should be monitored: limit, verification, bank decline
International card acceptance and currency support are a separate topic
The settlement period and any hold conditions should be made explicit in the contract

The setup process

01
Data and permission analysis
We decide which data flows in which direction, which system is the master, and what API permissions are required.
02
Mapping table
Product, variant, category, warehouse and account fields are mapped between the two systems, one by one.
03
Development and testing
The integration is built on a development store; order, return and error scenarios are tested with real data.
04
Going live
It is released through a controlled switchover, watched closely for the first few days, with the error queue monitored.
05
Monitoring and maintenance
Logging, error alerting and API version updates continue under the maintenance retainer.

Frequently asked

It depends on the provider's support; we verify that during setup and test it, partial refunds included. If it is not automatic, we define the refund flow so your operations team can follow it step by step.
