Dia Shopify integration

Product, stock, order and account data flow with Dia ERP.

What does this integration do?

In a Dia integration, product and stock data flow from the ERP to Shopify, while order and customer data flow from Shopify to Dia. Warehouses, price lists and account structures are mapped to the store's setup.

The data it synchronises

Product and variant transfer
Stock / price synchronisation
Order transfer
Customer account matching
Invoices and dispatch notes
Multi-warehouse structure

How the data flows

01
Data ownership is settled
Product, stock and price live on the Dia side; content, imagery and collections on the Shopify side. Where the boundary sits is put in writing.
02
Price list mapping
Price lists in Dia are mapped to sales channels and customer groups in Shopify. If wholesale and retail prices differ, the setup follows that split.
03
Stock flow
Warehouse-level stock is aggregated and written to Shopify as sellable stock. Which warehouses are included is a commercial decision.
04
Orders and accounts
The Shopify order is transferred to Dia; the customer account is matched and payment and shipping details are carried across.
05
Invoices and dispatch notes
Documents are produced on the Dia side; numbers are written back to the order and the returns flow runs in the same chain.

What we watch for in this integration

Multiple price lists are where this integration most often gets tangled; which list goes to which channel is defined one by one
Which warehouse-level stock is opened to online sales is decided up front
Product matching runs on the stock code; products without a code cannot be included in the integration
Bulk updates on the Dia side can flood the sync queue; a separate window is planned for bulk operations
If the account structure includes wholesale, the B2B side is assessed separately

The setup process

01
Data and permission analysis
We decide which data flows in which direction, which system is the master, and what API permissions are required.
02
Mapping table
Product, variant, category, warehouse and account fields are mapped between the two systems, one by one.
03
Development and testing
The integration is built on a development store; order, return and error scenarios are tested with real data.
04
Going live
It is released through a controlled switchover, watched closely for the first few days, with the error queue monitored.
05
Monitoring and maintenance
Logging, error alerting and API version updates continue under the maintenance retainer.

Whether you sell wholesale / B2B

Frequently asked

Yes. We map the lists in Dia to channels and customer groups in Shopify. If you also sell wholesale, we set up the pricing and payment terms on the B2B side separately.
