What does this integration do?
The Mutlucell integration wires Shopify webhooks directly to SMS sending: the relevant template is triggered on order creation, payment, shipping and return events. If a subscriber number is defined, inbound replies are passed into the system too.

How the data flows

The event list is drawn up
The Shopify events that should send a message are identified, with a template and send timing defined for each.

Templates are prepared
Transactional and commercial templates are separated, with the brand name and opt-out information added where required.

Consent filter
Commercial sends are filtered against the consented list, with opt-out records checked before sending.

Sending
Messages go out branded, with priority messages such as OTP processed in a separate queue.

Credit and report tracking
Balance and delivery reports are monitored, with an alert set so sending does not stop silently when credit runs out.

Data and permission analysis
We decide which data flows in which direction, which system is the master, and what API permissions are required.

Mapping table
Product, variant, category, warehouse and account fields are mapped between the two systems, one by one.

Development and testing
The integration is built on a development store; order, return and error scenarios are tested with real data.

Going live
It is released through a controlled switchover, watched closely for the first few days, with the error queue monitored.

Monitoring and maintenance
Logging, error alerting and API version updates continue under the maintenance retainer.
