How the data flows

Product matching
The catalogue is matched on barcode; product fields are prepared against N11's category structure and required attributes.

Stock and price flow
Stock is written from a single source, and price is set taking commission and shipping cost into account.

Orders land in Shopify tagged with their source and join a single operational flow.

Shipping and notifications
Shipping runs on the platform side; tracking information is kept current on both sides.

Commission reports are compared against accounting records; channel profitability is calculated after returns.
What we watch for in this integration
Because commission rates vary by category, pricing cannot be worked out on a single rate
Campaign participation directly affects margin; do not enter a campaign without a defined price floor
Stock and price changes are made only from the source system
If writing returned products back into stock is not automated, stock discrepancies accumulate
The setup process

Data and permission analysis
We decide which data flows in which direction, which system is the master, and what API permissions are required.

Mapping table
Product, variant, category, warehouse and account fields are mapped between the two systems, one by one.

Development and testing
The integration is built on a development store; order, return and error scenarios are tested with real data.

Going live
It is released through a controlled switchover, watched closely for the first few days, with the error queue monitored.
