PayTR Shopify integration

A local payment provider with instalments and a full collection flow.

What does this integration do?

The PayTR integration makes local card payments and instalment scenarios possible on Shopify. Commission, the instalment table and accounting reconciliation are set up around your store's operation.

The data it synchronises

Card payment flow
Instalment table
3D Secure verification
Refunds / cancellations
Payment reconciliation
Accounting integration

How the data flows

01
Moving to the payment step
The customer reaches the payment step in Shopify checkout; card details are entered in PayTR's secure area.
02
The instalment table is shown
The bank is identified from the card's first digits and the instalment options for that bank are listed. Which instalment counts to offer is set against your margin.
03
3D Secure verification
The verification flow completes. We test on a real device that this step works cleanly on mobile; it is the most common place things break.
04
The order is created
On a successful transaction the order is created in Shopify and the invoice, shipping and notification chain is triggered.
05
Refunds and reconciliation
Full and partial refunds are passed to the provider; settlement reports are matched against accounting records.

What we watch for in this integration

Because Shopify Payments is unavailable in Turkey, Shopify's third-party transaction fee applies on top of the provider's commission; the plan decision is made on that basis
Who absorbs the instalment cost — the store or the customer — must be settled up front and stated clearly on the site
If the failed transaction report is not monitored regularly, losses at the payment step stay invisible
The settlement period directly affects your cash flow and must be known before setup
Showing the instalment table on the product page lifts conversion, but the amounts have to stay current

The setup process

01
Data and permission analysis
We decide which data flows in which direction, which system is the master, and what API permissions are required.
02
Mapping table
Product, variant, category, warehouse and account fields are mapped between the two systems, one by one.
03
Development and testing
The integration is built on a development store; order, return and error scenarios are tested with real data.
04
Going live
It is released through a controlled switchover, watched closely for the first few days, with the error queue monitored.
05
Monitoring and maintenance
Logging, error alerting and API version updates continue under the maintenance retainer.

Frequently asked

That is a commercial decision. If the store absorbs it, the price stays flat and margin drops; if it is passed to the customer, the instalment amount rises. We work out which model applies up to which instalment count alongside your margin calculation.
